5Gorgeous and functional
By Kaylee
This is a great camera bag disguised as a mid-sized purse. I get comments on it wherever I go. It easily fits my Sony a57 and leaves plenty of room for my wallet and other necessities. The zipper is a much-appreciated feature, especially while in transit or between shoots. The cell phone pocket is a great feature as my android fits into it perfectly, but anything bigger (like an iphone) won't fit. If you're looking for a smallish camera bag/purse, this is an excellent choice.

3I really wanted to love this....

...... but alas, I didn't even like it. I want to own a nice camera bag for my new micro 4/3 camera system and when I saw this bag I thought for sure my search was over. I've been a part time photographer for 10+ years and I own all kinds of camera bags. Large, small, expensive, inexpensive and the one thing they all have in common is that they all look like drab and dreary camera bags. Some are a little less drab and dreary, but all of them are boxy and boring. And none of them ever have enough pockets for my taste. With the new micro 4/3 system I knew I could move away from the traditional bags because the system even with 3 or 4 lenses, is very compact.

The Kelly Moore B-Hobo is interesting and looks nothing like a camera bag. And I thought it might even have enough pockets (it doesn't -- it has some, but not enough for me) As you can see from the photo, it looks like a nice lady's pocketbook. Despite reviews that talked about the poor quality and the cracking material, I ordered one and couldn't wait for it to receive it. I chose the green color. The color didn't disappoint at all. It was a rich and lush pea soup green. The material, which in the photo looks like a nice soft faux leather is neither soft, nor leather like. It has a stiff, crunchy feel to it and I can easily see why cracking would occur. I found it felt terrible to the touch. The inside might have been well enough padded to protect camera gear, but it didn't FEEL protective enough. My sense was that if I knocked into something with it my gear could get damaged fairly easily.

If this bag were less expensive I MIGHT rate it more favorably while still pointing out my concerns, however at over 160, my expectations are far higher and as a result I can't find much positive to say. But since I returned the bag within a day of receiving it, I had to give it 3 stars in order to be fair. I DIDN'T use it so I can't say for sure that it wasn't sturdy or protective or durable. It would be unfair to rate it poorly since I don't have real world experience with it. What you are reading here are my impressions -- you might like the stiff crunchy feel and you may well be satisfied with the number of pockets. I definitely think Kelly Moore is on to something with this line of camera bags. They are absolutely very cool looking, but I think they need some serious rethinking, and I would love to be part of the next design team (mind you I might not do any better, but I'd like to try).

I saw some unique custom made camera bags somewhere but since they weren't returnable I didn't want to take the chance. I know a lot of folks like the billingham bags and also the crumplers, but neither is outfitted with enough pockets for me. And I don't much care for how they look, but they both make good durable bags

So.... my search for an interesting, artsy, durable, padded and well pocketed camera bag continues.
